AWARENESS RALLY ON DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING

On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the NSS Unit of Annamacharya College of Pharmacy organized an Awareness Program followed by a Rally on 26th June 2025. The program aimed to educate students and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the growing concern of illicit trafficking in society.

Smt. Peer Muni, Tahsildar, Rajampet, Dr. D. Swarnalatha, Principal, ANCP,

Dr. S.M.V. Narayana, Principal, AITS, Dr. D.J. Samatha Naidu, Principal, APGCCS

The session commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. D. Swarnalatha, Principal of ANCP, highlighting the purpose of observing the day and the responsibility of youth in eradicating drug abuse from society.

Dr. S.M.V. Narayana emphasized the importance of creating awareness among students and advised them about the severe consequences of drug consumption and its long-term impact on health and future.

Sri M. Mallika, CI of SEB Rajampet, delivered a motivational speech, enlightening students about the psychological and societal damage caused by drug addiction. She inspired students to become ambassadors of anti-drug campaigns in their communities.

Sri Kullayappa, CI of Mannur, gave a detailed explanation on how illicit drug trafficking is being carried out globally. He also sensitized the audience about cybercrime and its connection with drug networks, urging students to stay alert and informed.

At the end of the awareness session, Sri M. Mallika led the gathering in taking a pledge against drug abuse, committing to a drug-free life.

Following the program, a rally was conducted from the Annamacharya College of Pharmacy campus to the Annamayya Statue, raising slogans to spread awareness against drugs. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from teaching faculty, NSS volunteers, students, and the general public, making it a grand success.

The program created a significant impact and served its objective of fostering awareness and responsibility among youth regarding drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
