Extensive research over last two decades has revealed that most chronic diseases were caused by the deregulation of multiple genes and cell signaling pathways. However, most of the drugs designed by man (pharmaceutical companies) are limited as they are mono-targeted. Because most chronic diseases are multi-genie, such drugs are not likely to be very effective and exhibit side effects when consumed over long periods. In contrast, most drugs designed by “Mother Nature” have long track record, are multi-targeted, highly effective over long-term and exhibit minimal side effects. Thus it is not too surprising that until very recently, almost 80% of all drugs had their roots in natural products. Because of their nutritional value, they are also referred to as “Nutraceuticals”. The history of these nutraceuticals goes back to thousands of years as indicated by “Ayurveda” (science of long life), “Unani”, “Siddha”, “Homeopathy”, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other ancient treatments.
Objective of the conference
This conference is dedicated for empowering students, researchers, young investigators, trainees, academicians and professionals. This is going to be an international event with plentiful opportunities for networking and sharing of ideas with colleagues from various part of the world. The delegates expected are scientists and students who are nutritionists, allopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic, unani, siddha and traditional medicine practitioner s, from all over the world.
